The Wait
Here God is in the midst of creation....slowly, a planet is being born in that spiral swirl of star dust....very, very slowly.
Gives fresh insight to God being outside of our chronological time, living fully in kairos (Divine non-chronological is-ness).
I see God in my mind's eye with planets on simmer on the back burner, whole galaxies in formation as God slowly turns the spoon and slightly turns up the heat. On the front burner, God is crafting together teeny bodies that fit with expansive souls and placing them one by one in mother's wombs all over planet earth.
Advent, Waiting, Creating...God in process.
This remarkable picture is taken from the Hubble telescope. It captures the formation of an unusual pre-planetary nebula, known as IRAS 23166+1655, around the star LL Pegasi in the constellation of Pegasus. The image shows what appears to be a thin spiral pattern of astonishingly regularity winding around the star, which is itself hidden behind thick dust. The spiral pattern suggests a regular periodic origin for the nebula's shape. The material forming the spiral is moving outwards a speed of about 50 000 km/hour and, by combining this speed with the distance between layers, astronomers calculate that the shells are each separated by about 800 years (http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/12/2010_hubble_space_telescope_ad.html).
