Encouragement for those gripped with depression or illness to Create

From the mystic Hildegard of Bingen, in her Book of Divine Words:

"A voice from heaven sang out, saying to me:

'Depressed child of God and [child] of much hard work, even though you've been throughly seared--so to speak--by endless terrible pains in your body, the deep mysteries of God have completely permeated you.  Give others an accurate account of what you see with your inner eye and what you hear with the inner ear of your soul.  Your testimony will benefit others.  As a result, men and women will learn how to know their Creator and they'll no longer refuse to adore God with excellence and respect.'

That voice made me--hearbroken and fragile creature that I am --begin to write with a trembling hand, even though I was traumatized by more illnesses that I could count."
