Finding my way to center...15 ways...

1. Nothing scheduled for 24 hours.
2. Standing on my back porch for the first minutes of the morning and noticing the life around me.
3. Rearranging a space: a shelf, a closet, a drawer, a tabletop, a room.
4. A extra dry cappuccino and a book by myself at Coffee Cat for a whole hour.
5. Dropping my daughter off at sunday school and schooling myself in a bit of solitude and contemplation.
6. Two hours at the Trappist Abbey in Lafayette without anything with me to write or read.
7. A deep conversation with an old friend.
8. Blog-hopping: specifically blogs about creating beauty and the spiritual life.
9. Getting outside of my own list of concerns and praying for someone else.
10. Crafting with my daughter at the dining room table: mod-podge, watercolor paint, oil pastels.
11. Teaching the story for Godly Play (and softening the clay for the kids afterward for the creative expression).
12. Children's literature: on my bedside table is The Invention of Hugo Cabret.
13. Powell's...with Clint (although he does disappear in there).
14. A long walk with my dog--the walking path by North Valley Friends.
15. Journaling: never catch-up journaling, only Present Tense (and a bit future).

I always feel bad that I don't journal. I never keep up with it.
