This passage keeps speaking to me from Jer. 17: 7 & 8:
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord,
They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream.
It shall not fear when heat comes,
and its leaves shall stay green;
in the year of drought it is not anxious,
and it does not cease to bear fruit.
Simple words: trusting (cultivating a relationship with God), means that when the year is terrible, and dry and in famine, your root system is deep enough to draw water. It means that we have the hope of not drying up and living in anxiety during life's famines and dark times.

I'm reading through the Bible right now and currently trudging very slowly through Leviticus. I'm tempted to just jump ahead to Jeremiah. It's my favorite book!
